Summary
Nelson Mandella was elected as a leader of the African National Congress, but was soon after arrested in 1964 and was put in prison for life. He was eventually released in 1990, and went on to win a Nobel Peace Prize only three years later. He was also elected as the first ever Black President of South Africa in 1994.
